This holiday season bring beautiful color and a little legend into your home Your friends at Keck Insurance Agency would like to wish you and your family a Fun, Safe and Joyous Holiday Season!

Did you know...Christmas plants bring color and legends of the nativity?

Christmas ushers in a time of festive decor with evergreen branches adorning doors and tables, clove-stuffed oranges mixing their scents with the pine, and an array of lovely flowers associated with the Christmas season. Add any or all of these to enhance your celebration.

Poinsettia: The most popular of the Christmas flowers, the red poinsettia reflects the cheerfulness of the season. Poinsettias also flourish in cream, lemon, peach, pink and with white and gold-splashed leaves. Thus they fit into whatever color scheme you've selected.

Christmas Rose: Sometimes referred to as an "old-fashioned flower," the Christmas rose grows wild in the mountains of Central Europe. The beautiful white flower tipped with pink is said to have been revealed in the snow to a young girl so she could give a gift to the Christ Child.

Christmas Cactus: This lovely succulent is easy to care for and comes in a wide array of colors including yellow, salmon, pink, fuchsia, and white. Not only does it provide a bright decoration, it also serves as a lovely gift, especially if it's for a gardener.

Holly: Many Christmas legends have sprung up around the green and red of the lovely holly plant. One story involves a young shepherd boy who, having made a crown of holly leaves for Jesus' head, began to cry because he thought his gift unworthy. The baby Jesus touched the holly crown and the tears of the boy were turned into the beautiful red berries.

From all of us, to all of you, Happy Holidays and don't forget that kissing under the white berries of the mistletoe is a Christmas tradition.
